I’m a ‘Shoeholic’! (like many women), I love shoes; I love to wear them; I love to look at them; I love seeing people in beautiful shoes, when I see women (and sometimes men), my eyes go to the feet first!. If it was possible, my shoe closet would look like this:
… But it’s not possible; unfortunately:(… By perpetually looking at women (and sometimes men) in their shoes, I realized you can tell a lot about a person, by the shoe they wear. I’ve gotten to a point where I can give a little synopsis of a person just by looking at their shoes, and more times than not, I’m spot on… I believe in ‘Shoe-Analogy’… oh wow!, I just coined a word!… or is it a phrase?! :)…!
It may not be called ‘Shoe-Analogy’ but it is believed that you can actually tell who a person is by their shoes… a research was done at the University of Kansas and published in the Journal of Research in Personality, revealed that “people can accurately judge 90 percent of a stranger’s personality simply by looking at the person’s shoes” the research further stated that “Shoes convey a thin but useful slice of information about their wearers, Shoes serve a practical purpose, and also serve as nonverbal cues with symbolic messages. People pay attention to the shoes they and others wear. The style, value, colour and condition of the footwear can paint a picture of the owner’s emotional, political and other vital personality traits”. The research further revealed that:
1. Obvious clues:
a. Expensive shoes suggest top earners:
b. Flashy, colorful pairs belong to extroverts:
c. Shoes that may not be new but are immaculate belong to conscientious types.
2. Other clues are less obvious:
a. Practical shoes belong to agreeable people.
So it’s a fact that ‘Shoe Analogy’ exists! 🙂 You can actually tell who a person is by the type of shoe they wear… so, do you see your personality trait being showed above? Do you believe the statements above are true? If you do or don’t, leave a comment. Let me know what you think.
