Lying: Do You, Or Don’t You?

A wise person once told me, “a person will hate you for many reasons; they will however despise you when you tell the truth”. It is always easy to tell a little white or whatever color lie there is, to hide something you don’t want known. You may lie to cover yourself, to hide something you did wrong or to avoid hurting someone’s feelings, (like a co-worker and I were talking, and she was like “why are you like that? It’s like you don’t care about what I’m saying”….The truth is, I DIDN’T give a hell about what she was saying, I just wanted her to get out of my office…but being the ‘proper’ person I am, “I said no man, nothing like that” I didn’t mean to lie, but I know she would hate me if I tell her what I really felt)…

Lying of varying degrees is necessary in today’s society. If we go around telling people how we really feel, we would have no friends, and our families would avoid and despise us!… We have to lie… sometimes. We have to hide how we really feel to have a peaceful life…Some persons however, are pathological liars. They lie through their teeth, and often, for no good reason. Those are the persons I cannot stand. I hate being lied to! As much as possible, I avoid lying. It is too much work,… lying is a full-time job!….

So which liar are you? Are you the pathological kind or the ‘little white lie’ kind?… whichever you are, always remember…

Honesty is more than not lying. It is truth telling, truth speaking, truth living, and truth loving. – James E. Faust

Have a nice day 🙂
